1. Insert the Mac OS9 installation disk into the CD-Rom. The Mac OS9 window appears. Double-click the Mac OS Install icon.
2. The Welcome window appears. Click Continue.
3. The Install OS9 window appears. In the small scroll window next to Destination Disk select the drive where your OS9 operating system is installed, most likely it will be My Hard Drive. Click Select.
4. A warning box appears informing you that you already have OS9 installed on your computer. Click Add/Remove.
5. The Custom Installation and Removal window appears. Scroll down the list in the window until you find Language Kits and place a check in the checkbox next to it. When you place the check in the checkbox, immediately to the right of Language Kits a small pop-up menu becomes enabled. Click on the down arrow to open the pop-up menu and place a check next to Customized Installation.
6. The Select Language Kits window appears. Scroll down the list until you find Software for Chinese using simplified characters and/or Software for Chinese using traditional characters checkboxes. Place a check in the checkbox of each you choose to install. Click OK.
7. You are returned to the Custom Installation and Removal window. Click Start.
8. The Language Kits will be installed.
9. Reboot the computer.
10. After reboot, a small American flag will appear in the upper right-hand corner of the computer screen.. When this flag is clicked a drop-down box will open showing the languages installed on the system.
