1. Have your Windows 2000 installation disk available if needed.
2. Open Start, select Settings, then open Control Panel.

3. The Control Panel appears. Open Regional Options in the Control Panel.

4. The Regional Options window appears. Select the General tab.

5. In the Language setting for the system box , scroll down to locate Simplified Chinese and/or Traditional Chinese. Place a check in the checkbox next to each you wish to install.

6. Click Apply. If you have never installed the selected language support for this computer before the Insert Disk window will appear and request that you insert your Windows 2000 installation disk into the CD-ROM. Insert the installation disk and click OK.
Note: If you don't receive the prompt to insert your installation disk then you already have the files installed on your computer and you can skip down to Configuring the Input Method Editors (IMEs) in Windows 2000-step 3.

7. When the necessary files are finished loading into the computer, you will prompted to reboot your system. Reboot the system so the necessary files will be properly installed. After reboot, continue to Configuring the Input Method Editors (IMEs) in Windows 2000.
